Foreman/Supervisor – Landscape Construction
Reports to: Owner
Summary:
The Landscape Construction Foreman/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all on-site aspects of landscape construction projects.

Job Duties:
- Manage the execution of landscape construction projects to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlines
- Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard
- Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day to day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 1 to 3 employees
- Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructions
- Conduct on-site orientations with new employees and employees in new positions, which cover all company health and safety policies, practices, and procedures
- Operate various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
- Participate in the construction of various landscape elements
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: daily site meeting logs, crew daily forms, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, requests for time off, etc.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
- Employee training
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the landscape/construction industry
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
- Speak, read, and write English
- Carry and use a smartphone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting
Work Conditions:
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent stamina is required
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
- Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work
- Available 24/7 during winter storm events
General Laborer (Landscape Construction)
Reports to: ¨ Crew Foreman
Summary:
The Landscape Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. The landscape laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Job Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
- Operate various tools and equipment, including: chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete
- Assist in the construction of walkways, patios, outdoor living spaces, gardens and plantings, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Dig ditches or trenches
- Perform land clearing activities
- Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
- Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying
- Use of large equipment such as skid steers and excavators
- Assist foreman with job-related tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to perform work activities
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent a plus, but not required
- One year experience in the landscape/construction industry preferred, but not required
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
- Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Ability to be at work on time and prepared

Grounds Maintenance Laborer
Reports to: ¨ Foreman
Summary:
The Grounds Maintenance Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks in order to complete grounds maintenance service contracts. The grounds maintenance laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Job Duties:
- Aid in the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM
- Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, and perform other lawn care duties as directed by foreman
- Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas
- Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, chain saws, and snow blowers
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Assist foreman in other work-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Requirements:
- Positive attitude with willingness to learn and exceed expectations
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete simple reports, report progress to foreman
